You retain ownership of content you submit to WaterEgo (trip reports, reviews, photos, forum posts). By submitting content, you grant WaterEgo a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your content on the Site.

4.2 Content Standards

You agree that your content will not:

  • Be unlawful, threatening, abusive, harassing, or defamatory
  • Infringe on any intellectual property rights
  • Contain false or misleading safety information
  • Promote dangerous or reckless paddling behaviour
  • Contain spam, advertising, or commercial solicitation
  • Impersonate another person or entity

4.3 Content Moderation

We reserve the right to remove or modify any user-generated content that violates these Terms or our community guidelines, without prior notice.

5. Safety Disclaimer

IMPORTANT: Kayaking and water sports involve inherent risks including drowning, hypothermia, and injury. The information on WaterEgo is provided for general informational purposes only.

  • Route information, difficulty ratings, and conditions data are indicative only and may not reflect current conditions
  • Always check weather and water conditions before paddling
  • Always wear a properly fitted PFD (personal flotation device)
  • Never paddle alone, especially as a beginner
  • WaterEgo does not replace professional kayaking instruction or safety training

WaterEgo accepts no responsibility for any injury, loss, or damage arising from the use of information on this Site. You paddle at your own risk.

6. Intellectual Property

The Site's design, layout, graphics, logos, and original content are the intellectual property of WaterEgo and are protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

7. Club and Instructor Listings

WaterEgo provides a directory of kayaking clubs and instructors as a community service. We do not endorse, verify, or guarantee the qualifications, safety standards, or quality of service of any listed club or instructor. Users are advised to independently verify certifications and insurance before engaging any service.

8. Gear Reviews and Affiliate Links

Gear reviews on WaterEgo are submitted by community members and reflect their personal opinions. WaterEgo may include affiliate links to products. If you purchase through these links, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not influence the content or rating of reviews.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Irish law, WaterEgo shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site or reliance on any information provided.

10. Indemnification
